The year 2019 is upon us and I thought it would be good to look back on the past 12 months at Velocity! I was very poor on the blog-front in 2018, there are many reasons for that, however, the main one being I’ve been focussed on video, but more on that later.


A taste of  some of  the clients I worked with in 2018, a typically diverse year for me!

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society – I’ve spent a huge part of the past year rolling out the social media strategy I devised on for the SMWS in late 2017. The baton will now be passed to the internal team!

Isle of Harris Distillers – My long-term relationship with the makers of Isle of Harris Gin continued in 2018 as I offered analysis and advice on their digital marketing activity. I also went to Harris to make a film, which will be launched in January!

Albert Bartlett – From spirits to sprouts as I devised a new social media strategy and also supported with influencer marketing over the course of 2018 with the massive Scottish producer of potatoes.

Incremental Group – It was great to work with the team at this high-growth tech startup to create a new social media strategy, covering content, paid social and much  more.

Richmond Containers – I created a social media and content strategy for this international cosmetic packaging company. This was focussed on B2B with a large focus on creating in-depth content for use throughout the marketing funnel.

ExecSpace – I worked closely with ExecSpace CEO, Emma Little on a strategy to increase her personal profile via social media and the use of video.

Air-Pot – A very interesting project as I examined the market for this horticultural technology with the aim of identifying the best possible strategy for digital growth.

The launch of Getgo Studio

While working away on Velocity projects, I’ve also been in the process of launching Getgo Studio, my new video production company. We offer on-location filming, but also have a fully-functioning studio in Queensferry, Edinburgh.

The studio is designed for shooting interviews, training videos, thought-leadership pieces and much more. You simply come prepared, and we handle all filming, light, sound, backdrops and editing.

I mentioned earlier that I’d been far more focussed on creating videos as opposed to writing in the past year, I’ve simply found it more creative, but I still love a good paragraph! See what I’ve been up to over on YouTube.

What about Velocity in 2019?
