I can’t believe we’re on the cusp of May 2018! As we tumble toward summer (maybe), I thought it would be good to share some of what I’ve been up to this year. Here we go…
A large slice of my time is currently spent rolling-out a new global social media strategy for the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. I worked with the SMWS team to write the new strategy last year, and we’re now activating it, piece-by-piece, region by region. I’ve spent a huge chunk of my career working with whisky and spirits companies, and to be involved with such an innovative brand is a real pleasure. Find out more about my whisky and spirits work here.
While on the theme of spirits, I’m very much enjoying my continued work with Isle of Harris Distillery, offering marketing analysis and advice. Having worked with the team on their original social media strategy nearly three years ago, it’s brilliant to still be involved!
They come from the earth
I’m currently working on a new social media strategy for potato giant, Albert Bartlett. Visiting their facility has been a highlight of this year! Amazing to see the process and learn about a brand with real heritage.
Getting down to that individual level
I recently completed a project with Emma Little, the CEO of ExecSpace. We created a number of short, simple videos designed to be used within LinkedIn in order for Emma to share her insights from running her successful venue finding agency for 10 years. This is all about added value for clients and prospects, plus taking advantage of the huge LinkedIn video opportunity. Watch one of the videos here.
It has been brilliant working with Emma and we have a number of new projects lined up, including more video work. I’m also going to be working with two further CEOs on a similar basis, very exciting!
I’ve moved into an office overlooking St Andrew Square, its great to have my own space, with room for team expansion. It may not be me, myself and I for much longer. Views like the below are a nice bonus!
Speaking and teaching
I’ve been out and about this year, including delivering tutorials at University of West Scotland and most recently, Robert Gordon University (see pic below). I’m speaking at Digital Olympus in June, it’s a fully-online, free conference with a great lineup. You can sign up here. I’ll be travelling to Istanbul at the end of May to speak at this event, very much looking forward to that!
That’s a wrap
I hope that was in some way interesting! I think diverse is a good word to sum-up my 2018 so far. Brilliantly diverse.
Till next time!
