Global Social Media Strategy and Delivery

I began working with SMWS in August, 2017, tasked with supporting their team in unifying their global social media presence.

This has involved an audit of over 18 territories, creation of a new strategy for social media use across-the-board and project management of the process. I rolled-out this strategy throughout 2018 and Q1 of 2019 before handing-over.

Simon Erlanger at Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd approached me in 2015 to work with them to create a social media strategy that would take the amazing story of the brand new distillery and its product range to Gin drinkers across the globe.

In 2017, we began working together again, with me carrying out in-depth monthly analysis on their web and marketing data and delivering advice and direction.

I recently wrapped up a project with Balblair, a premium whisky brand with a brilliant heritage and a unique way of devising their whisky ‘expressions’.

I was tasked with revamping their social media activity, particularly focussed on their copy across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Float, the Edinburgh based cash flow forecasting tool approached me with a very clear objective – come up with a strategy that will allow us to quickly implement paid social media advertising activity in a highly targeted, efficient and measured way.

Paid Social Media Management

I’m currently (commenced August 2017) delivering paid social media campaigns across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for Nicholson Gin. Nicholson was first created in 1736 and has been revived in 2017 by direct descendants of the original family.

Content Marketing Consultancy

I’m currently (commenced August 2017) working with ECG On-Demand to craft their content marketing strategy and offer continued consultancy. The ECG On-Demand service couples software with the knowledge of physicians to offer on-demand ECG interpretation.

The ECG On-Demand target-audience is varied and complex, it’s been a great and exciting challenge working with their team to create this strategy!

Scottish Canals asked Velocity to audit their existing social media strategy and create a new strategy to engage with a very varied group of public stakeholders, both in the UK and overseas.

Social Media Strategy

Sector – Retail

We created a social media strategy with a focus on increasing brand awareness and communicating their incredible charity programme. Secondary to the strategy is the retention of current lottery players and the generation of new players.

A key factor in this strategy was the implementation of a rigorous system for social media analysis and measurement. The strategy was delivered in May 2015 and will be rolling out over the coming 12 months.

We delivered a social media strategy to McIntosh Foods in June 2015. McIntosh Foods is aa hugely popular Scottish foods producer, with their products sold in all major supermarket chains.

The strategy was brand-led, tapping into the fantastic sentiment among customers and enables McIntosh to push their product reach and awareness via organic and paid social media activity. The strategy will be rolled out over the coming year, although Velocity Digital will not be handling the delivery.

I launched Cheeky Chompers to parents across the world via social media and managed an engaging and valuable social media presence that created brand affinity, engagement and strong levels of product sales.

Working with a new business meant my approach had to be in-line with low initial budgets and geared towards high levels of return. My strategy was scalable and grew as the brand awareness and sales increased. Click link below for a case study.

I’m currently working with Premiere Neige (commenced August 2017), creating, delivering and optimising a number of Facebook advertising campaigns with the aim of driving sales of their premium ski holidays.

A key part of this work has been researching and building highly targeted and structured Facebook audiences, ensuring the right mix of Facebook users is being promoted to.

We currently manage all social media activity for Mercat Tours, Edinburgh’s premier tour company. The first stage of this project was to create a strategy with the aim of achieving stand-out from competitors, building an engaged and relevant audience and driving tour ticket sales. Key to this was ensuring a strong system for measurement and analysis was created.

We’re now six months in to our relationship with Mercat Tours and look forward continuing to work with this excellent tourism business.

We launched The Data Lab’s Twitter and LinkedIn presences, growing a highly relevant audience via SocialBro segmentation. The platforms were maintained with curated content in order to create a filtered resource tailored to the audience profile. Project was completed in April 2015.

We held a number of consultation sessions with the founder of NeurocentRX in order to establish the optimal digital marketing route for the launch of their palliative care pain drugs. During these session we explored the best methods for raising awareness of the products among the desired medical areas.

Having spoken at the Turing Festival in 2015 and 2016, I’m now delighted to be working with the team to take the 2017 event to new heights! The festival covers two key areas – marketing and product, and attracts the best speaker lineup in the UK, with many international heavy-hitters taking to the stage.

I’m working on a growth strategy and assisting with the delivery of it – don’t hang about if you want to go, 2017 will be the fastest-selling yet!
